Physical Therapy Evaluation
Your initial evaluation will involve a 60 minute, one-on-one, comprehensive assessment by a skilled physical therapist. During this time, necessary objective data will be obtained regarding muscle strength, range of motion, mobility, function, and form during specific activities. You and a your therapist will then work together to form an individualized care plan and home exercise program best suited to you and your needs.
Manual Therapy
At Dynamic Physical Therapy, each session of your rehabilitation journey will have time dedicated to hands-on manual therapy. This treatment includes a variety of techniques targeted toward relieving muscle tension, mobilizing stiff joints, and decreasing pain. Manual therapy will be followed by specific therapeutic exercise in order to maximize strength and range of motion.
Exercise Prescription
The best part of practicing physical therapy in a one-on-one care delivery is being afforded the time to approach exercise prescription in a very personalized manner. Exercises are selected, modified, and progressed to be as targeted, individualized and challenging as possible. Movement is coached to activate correct musculature, restore proper neuromuscular control and stability, and break patterns of reinjury. Your home exercise program is one of the most important parts of your rehabilitation and should feel effective and should be updated regularly as you progress.  Â
Women's Pelvic Floor Therapy
Pelvic floor physical therapy can be used to address a wide variety of symptoms that may be affecting your daily life. The pelvic floor muscles are a group of bowl-shaped muscles in your pelvis that aid in bowel, bladder, sexual function, and more. At Dynamic Physical Therapy, our certified pelvic floor physical therapist can create and individualized plan to help you address urinary incontinence, abdominal/pelvic pain, pain with intercourse, exercise and mobility through pregnancy, and postpartum care including perineal tearing, cesarean scar management, and return to activity. Â
Prehab and Post-Op Rehabilitation
Your doctor may prescribe physical therapy or ‘prehab’ to maintain and gain strength and range of motion prior to your operation. Surgeries that may require prehab are joint replacements, rotator cuff repair, and ACL reconstruction. Training the body before surgery can aid in a smooth transition to your rehabilitation post-operatively, where the focus of therapy will be on restoring strength, range of motion, and improving your ability to return to daily activities and exercise.Â
Sports Performance
A variety of injuries can occur across different sports due to overuse, collisions, quick cutting movements, breakdown in form, and more. At Dynamic Physical Therapy, we can create an individualized approach to any of your sport-related injuries, and get you back to the activities you love most. Many of the athletes we treat include, but are not limited to, golfers, runners, triathletes, soccer players, and overhead throwing athletes.
Postural and Ergonomic Education
Whether sitting or standing for work, it’s important to optimize your desk and workspace to maintain efficient posture and prevent prolonged positions that may lead to neck, back, or shoulder pain over time. We can help you identify any postural changes and associated aches and pains due to your work setup. We will then create an individualized exercise program and provide education on modifying your space to address these changes to ensure a pain free workday. Companies can also contract our therapists for on-site ergonomic workshops, including easy-to-follow handouts with workplace tips and exercise demonstrations to keep your employees feeling better at their desks.
Gait and Running Analysis
A gait analysis is a method for identifying biomechanical abnormalities in the gait cycle during running or walking. The therapist will record a video of the client walking or running and will provide a detailed report of the biomechanical abnormalities and strategies to correct them.Â
Dry Needling
Dry needling, also known as Trigger Point Dry Needling, is a technique used in physical therapy to target trigger points or painful tight bands in the muscles, often referred to as knots. During this treatment, a small needle is inserted into the muscle to help the tight band relax, which can lead to decreased pain and improved mobility in the area. Our physical therapists have been trained by Myopain Seminars, an industry-leading provider of dry needling education.Â
Cupping
Cupping is an ancient alternative medicine technique that can be effective for improving blood flow and decreased inflammation in certain areas of the body. This technique involves the use of specialized plastic, glass, or silicone cups to suction the skin upwards, and improve the flow of blood and decrease muscle tension in the area applied. Cupping can be used in a static position, glided over a surface of the body, or paired with mobility activities to maximize benefits.Â
Telehealth
Telehealth sessions include an initial evaluation to assess your symptoms, posture, movement patterns, and body mechanics. Treatments will guide you through performance of therapeutic exercises, neuromuscular re-education, and self-mobilizations. Your physical therapist will demonstrate techniques and give you verbal feedback to improve form and ensure the exercises are targeting appropriate muscle groups. We can connect via computer, smartphone, or tablet using Zoom, FaceTime, Skype, or Google Hangouts.Â
