News and Upcoming Events

Meet Sarah Wancowicz, PT, DPT, the newest pelvic floor/orthopedic physical therapist at Dynamic Physical Therapy in River North. Sarah earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Boston University and brings several years of experience across both pelvic health and orthopedics. She treats prenatal and postpartum recovery, urinary and bowel incontinence, acute and chronic pelvic pain, and sexual dysfunction, and her orthopedic background shapes how she approaches all of it. Pelvic floor symptoms rarely exist in isolation, and Sarah looks at the whole picture, including hips, low back, core strength, and how you move, so treatment addresses the cause and not just the symptom. That also means she is equally comfortable treating shoulder, knee, and back injuries, or helping you return to running, lifting, or life with a toddler on your hip. Sarah believes good care starts with listening. She takes time to understand your goals, your routine, and what you have stopped doing because of pain, then builds an individualized, evidence based plan around it. Every session is one on one, so you are never rushed and never handed off. Outside the clinic, Sarah enjoys strength training and traveling.

Climbing puts enormous force through the small joints and tendons of your fingers, and finger pain is one of the most common complaints we see from climbers. Not all of it is normal training soreness, and knowing the difference matters.

Our latest post covers what actually causes climbing finger pain, including flexor tendon strain, pulley injuries, and joint irritation. You will also find the warning signs that suggest something more than overuse, and guidance on when to keep training through it versus when to get it looked at.

Dealing with finger pain that is not settling down? Our Chicago physical therapists provide one on one care in River North, and direct access means you can start without a physician referral. Read the full post.
