Dry Needling
Dry Needling
Dry Needling (Trigger Point Dry Needling) is a skilled physical therapy technique used to treat myofascial trigger points—commonly felt as tight, painful “knots” within the muscle. Using a very fine, sterile filament needle, the physical therapist targets the affected muscle tissue to help release tension, reduce pain, and improve mobility and function.
Dry needling requires advanced post-graduate education, specialized certification, and dedicated equipment. Our physical therapists have completed extensive training through Myopain Seminars, a nationally recognized leader in dry needling education, to ensure safe, effective, and evidence-based care.
Because dry needling is considered a specialized service and is not covered by insurance, it is offered at an additional cost:
$20 when performed as part of a scheduled physical therapy treatment session
$80 for a 30-minute dry needling–only session
These fees reflect the additional training, certifications, and clinical resources required to provide this service at the highest standard of care.
If you have questions about whether dry needling is appropriate for your condition, your physical therapist will be happy to discuss it with you.
